Publishing administration

Publishing administration is the operational layer that makes a catalog collectable.

It is the registration, structuring and ongoing maintenance of compositions across the global rights system. Without it, your works are unrecognised — and the revenue they generate stays unclaimed.

Overview

Publishing administration is distinct from owning a master, distributing a release, or signing to a label. It is the infrastructure that gets compositions registered, identified and connected to every system that pays out on them.

What it covers

Establishing or strengthening the publishing entity. Registering compositions with PROs, CMOs and mechanical societies in each relevant territory. Issuing and propagating ISWCs. Aligning splits, credits and ownership data across systems. Maintaining the registration as the catalog grows.

Why it matters

01
Compositions generate revenue independently of recordings — and they require their own registration chain.
02
Without publishing in place, performance, neighbouring and mechanical streams cannot fully collect.
03
Registration is territorial. A work registered in one market does not collect in others by default.
04
Most catalogs that report 'low' royalties are not low-earning — they are unregistered or mis-registered.
How we operate it

01
Establish or strengthen
Publishing entity built where missing; corrected where mis-structured.
02
Register globally
Works registered with the right societies in each active territory.
03
Maintain over time
Registrations updated as the catalog and its data evolve.
